FLUX 3 Image: 1K, 2K and 4K pictures, and edits from up to ten
Black Forest Labs released FLUX 3 Image on October 1 and it is on the picker now, on every paid plan. It draws from words alone, or edits from up to ten pictures you connect to the box. A new box starts at 2K.
We bought pictures at 1K, 2K and 4K before writing this, and the price in each row below is the one fal billed. The picture at the top of this post is the 4K one, cropped and nothing else: it came back 3072 by 5456 pixels for a 9:16 box.
Pricing
One price per picture, set by the size you pick. The shape does not change it: a 2K picture costs the same at 16:9 as at 1:1.
Each size was checked against fal’s bill. 2K came back at five times the 1K price and 4K at sixteen times, which is what the table carries.

Connect pictures to the box and it edits instead of drawing from nothing: up to ten, in the order you wired them. On our 1K check three pictures went in and the bill was the plain 1K price.
fal asks for each picture to be at least 256 pixels on a side and at most 4 megapixels.
Limits
Fourteen shapes, from 21:9 to 1:2, including 7:5 and 5:7. fal also sells two square-only sizes, 512 and 768. The box does not offer them, because the shape is picked on its own and fal refuses a square-only size with any other shape.
4K takes longer than the other two. fal’s own note says it can take several minutes.

Do the pictures I connect cost extra?
No. Our 1K edit with three pictures connected billed the same as a 1K picture from words.
